 1. Policy Statement
LetsBeActive.Today, encompassing all it’s sessions, is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people. We adhere to the highest standards of child protection and ensure a safe environment for all participants​​​​​​.

2. Scope
This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, and participants across LetsBeActive.Today.

3. Staff and Volunteer Recruitment and Training
Comprehensive background checks, including DBS checks, will be conducted for all staff and volunteers.
Regular safeguarding and child protection training to be provided to ensure awareness of potential risks​​​​​​.

4. Child Protection Procedures
Clear procedures for responding to safeguarding concerns or allegations of abuse.
A designated Safeguarding Officer will be appointed to handle such concerns in line with UK safeguarding laws.

5. Health and Safety
Health and safety policies tailored to the nature of activities offered.
Regular risk assessments and safety protocol reviews to be conducted for all activities​​​​.

6. Parental Involvement and Communication
Parents/guardians to be kept informed of the club's safeguarding policy and their child's progress.

7. Reporting and Confidentiality
All concerns about a child’s welfare to be taken seriously and handled confidentially.
Reports to be made to appropriate authorities if there are concerns about a child’s safety.

8. Environment and Inclusivity
Ensuring a supportive, inclusive environment where every child, regardless of background or ability, feels valued and empowered.
Activities to be designed as engaging and educational​​​​.

9. Review and Monitoring
Annual review of the policy to reflect changes in legislation or club practices.
Continuous monitoring of policy implementation to ensure effectiveness.
